I wanted to give it to my friend Bonnie Coulter who was the owner of the most popular meeting place in town, the Sweet Tease to hang on that establishment\u2019s wall.It generated so much comment that we decided we needed to do more of the same. From that simple beginning and handful of people the Historical Society was formed. We were such a small group with no money, no idea of what forming a historical society entailed, and so much to do we were overwhelmed. Twice a month myself, Bonnie Coulter, Betty Joy, the Rains, Phil Scott, and a few others met at the Sweet Tease for a meeting to discuss what needed to be done and what our next step was. We managed to collect pictures of historic interest from people in the area.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">By founding member Jackie Mathies<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">The Dewey \u2013 Humboldt Society was formed to collect and preserve items, artifacts, pictures and records that reflect the history of Dewey \u2013 Humboldt and associated Yavapai County and Arizona, and to make the collections available for the education of local students and citizens, researchers as well as visitors to the area.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">The society has quite a bit of historic artifacts and documentation ready to be put on display upon the completion of a new Dewey \u2013 Humboldt Historical Museum.
